School Photographers: KG ProPhoto Offers New Smart ID Card Printer for School Staff/Student Badging
KG ProPhoto: Rebranding a Great Line of High-Performance Printers for the Expanding Photographic Market
Somerset, NJ October 19, 2009—KG Digital Imaging Solutions, a provider of high-performance on-demand printers, announced today that it will change its name to KG ProPhoto, to better encapsulate the growing product offerings being created by this leader in the on-site printing industry.
As part of this new branding strategy, KG ProPhoto is now the photographic digital imaging sales and marketing arm of KG Digital Solutions, a division of Kanematsu USA, Inc.—a company founded nearly a century ago.
Under the new KG ProPhoto brand, the company will continue to offer many of its industry standard dye-sub printers which have established themselves as some of the fastest and most durable printing solutions available. In addition, it will expand its reputation for top-quality performance to provide solutions to the ever growing demand for on-site image printing for retailers, school, wedding, sports, studio and event photographers and law enforcement agencies.
“This branding strategy will strengthen our channel, provide our resellers and their customers more exciting products and enforce the KG (Kanematsu) name as the company that has been selling, marketing and supporting Shinko products for nearly 10 years,” explains Andrew Peterson, KG ProPhoto’s National Sales Manager.
“The new name references our long heritage in providing printing solutions acclaimed for their top-quality performance, speed and durability,” notes Peterson, “and it better reflects the essential nature of our business—delivering professional-quality output to a broad range of markets.”
KG ProPhoto printer offerings are designed to deliver the same high quality as high-end photo lab machines. They have a smaller footprint and still offer high-capacity performance.
The very popular large format dye-sub unit—the S1245—turns out three 4x8s on a sheet which is ideal for printing greeting, holiday and thank you cards that are in such high demand at this time of the year.
In addition, it sells plastic card printers under the KG ProPhoto banner that are typically used to make high-quality ID cards. The new, compact Smart Card ID Printer is fast, convenient, portable and easy-to-use. Many school photographers report that offering ID cards as part of a package deal is an effective way for them to get photo services contracts for schools.
There’s also the SP-310 Digital Home and Passport printer. The SP-310 turns out 4x6s in about a minute, is adjustable to cover most passport formats and is small enough to be truly portable.
KG ProPhoto plans to further expand its product offerings to cover an even greater range of services providing cost-effective, high-quality performance that ultimately enhances the profit potential for photographers, retailers and other end users who provide prints for their customers.
